“I am extremely fortunate to have been part of Di Trevis’ Shakespeare Workshop in 2025. — Di is not only a lovely lady with beautiful british humour but also the extremely experienced first woman to have ever directed at the National Theatre. She has worked with great artists like Gary Oldman, Kenneth Brannagh and Marc Rylance. — Her teachings were so extremely fundamental and practical that I am really disappointed with all my teachers, none of whom gave me that knowledge in the course of 25 years. — Being a teacher myself, I offered the work to a student of mine who immediately produced fine results and felt new safety where she had felt rather insecure just before, not actually knowing what to do in her monologue. – What teachings could be better than those that apply immediately, like Di’s? She said: „This is not talent, it is work.“ Everyone can do it. The proof is in the pudding. — The beautiful participants of this workshop were international – with only three Germans. Wake up, folks! What Di Trevis teaches you in English will elevate your acting in German all the same. A rare opportunity.” – Claas (Actors/Acting Teacher – September 2025)

“Did the Acting Intensive foundation course with Matthias. He’s is a really great and sensitive teacher. Great experience.” – Robin Petre´ (Filmmaker “Only on Earth”/Berlinale 2025, “From the Wild Sea”/Berlinale 2021)

“I’m a director and acting teacher and I want t say what a wonderful resource the Schott Acting Studio is for actors, directors and all people active in theatre, film and television. I have had the great pleasure and experience of working with Matthias Schott over the years, taking his own online-classes which are some of the best I’ve experienced – inspiring and offering great knowledge of craft – and also benefiting from our in-depth conversations and the work with the many international teachers that he has invited to give classes in his studio. This has opened new doors for me and helped me to discover and learn about different techniques and approaches to work from around the world. In all respects, I think the Schott Acting Studio is unique.”Mike Alfreds (Theatre Director UK, Author of “Different Every Night”, “Then What Happens?”, “What Actors Do”)

“I am always happy to return to workshops with professionals in the field of screen acting that come to teach from abroad. The workshops are well organized, and the working environment is very respectful, inclusive, and challenging in a way that promotes learning. I have only good experience.” – Doroteja Nadrah / Actress Copenhagen (DK), Ljubljana (SI)

„Geordie’s generosity in the workshop is matched by his calm precision and clarity. His approach to working on postmodern texts is as coherent and illuminating as his process on conventional text analysis. He is kind, humble and in this way, out of his vast experience, effortlessly authoritative. I have loved working with him with Schott Acting Studio and look forward to doing so again.“ – Mike Bernardin (Acting Coach/Teacher & Director)

“I have already done several workshops with the Schott Acting Studio, and it has always been an amazing experience. Matthias has a great sense of choosing the most exquisite teachers from all over the world. – Creating a personal narrative with Martin Maron and Directing Personal Narrative with Tomer Adorian has been an incredible journey. Martin opens up with his kind and encouraging way, a space in which you can discover your own voice, the topics that are crucial for your soul right now, and guides you with his expertise towards creating a story out of this topic. Tomer has a strong theatrical background and helped me to find the visual aspect of my story. After that workshop, you feel uplifted, eager to develop and work on your own story, and so inspired by listening to the stories that your colleagues had to share. – This workshop is perfect for writers, actors, directors, and anyone who is longing to connect with oneself.” – Janina Elkin (Call My Agent Berlin, The Queen´s Gambit, Der König von Palma, Fremdkörper)

“I’ve taken several workshops at the Schott Acting Studio, which have all been super helpful and inspiring. The latest workshop I’ve been to was Di Travis’ Shakespeare workshop, which was wonderful. Di teaches concrete, very effective tools to break down a difficult monologue and prepare it for rehearsal/performance, which anyone can use, and not just for Shakespeare. She also gives precise individual feedback even such in a short amount of time, which speaks to her vast experience.” – Alina (Actress/ Director Leipzig – September 2025)

„I’ve spent so much time doing union work and best practice advocacy, and have seen how little effort goes into improving safeguarding and care. With everyone’s resources so stretched, organisations so rarely take the time to engage meaningfully when someone articulates a concern. The fact that you asked for feedback took it seriously, and then were so generous about finding a solution was both heartening and rather extraordinary. It is unusual to be met with such deep respect, trust, and generosity – and I think the world of you for it. I also think it speaks so highly of the work you’re doing, and the community you’re building. Thank you.“ – Kelly (Actress, London)

Professional, helps you grow, kind and supportive while also challenges you in the best and lovely kind of way. Having worked the last two years on stage, these courses helped me reconnect with acting and the stage.” ~ Emil/Actress Schweden

“The Schott Acting Studio offers very good quality workshops, with teachers coming from different countries and with varied acting techniques. I have participated in a few of these workshops and it has helped me a lot in my understanding of acting and gave me the opportunity to learn many techniques, to practice with motivated partners and to receive tips from great teachers. I highly recommend this Studio to any actors and actresses, whether they are professionals or amateurs and would add to that, that it is a great chance to have the possibility to act in English, something that is difficult to find elsewhere in Berlin.” – Nagisa Morimoto/Actress from Paris

“Doing the foundation intensive course at Schott Studio was one of the best choices I’ve made! It was the first acting course I’ve done and while I was nervous about how it was going to go…but it really exceeded my expectations. The place is beautiful, Matthias is an amazing teacher and very kind, and the exercises we did were rich in content, very helpful, and fun! Thank you, I will be back at Schott studio for sure!” – Marie (August 2025)

Acting Program Part II 5-day intensive: Matthias creates a supportive atmosphere where actors at every level can play, explore, and go deeper in their work. He’s a patient and highly knowledgeable teacher who gives thoughtful, precise feedback tailored to each participant. This is my third workshop with him, and I always leave feeling energised, challenged, and inspired.““ – Majella (Irish Actress)

“The three-week intensive course with Matthias Schott was my very first acting course and at the same time my entry into the world of acting. I had already gathered some practical experience beforehand, but I wanted to acquire solid knowledge and real techniques – and that is exactly what I got during these three weeks.I was able to take away a huge amount from the course, and today I have a much clearer approach to scenes, monologues and my own presence. What was particularly valuable for me was the honest and specific feedback, which meant I knew exactly what I need to work on. Even though my English isn’t perfect, I had the opportunity to perform my monologues and many exercises in German, which helped me a lot to focus fully on the acting. For anyone who wants to start acting or is still at the beginning, I can absolutely recommend this intensive workshop. Looking back, it was definitely a very good decision to take this course.” – Max

“ I can really recommend Eric’s class. Not only because he’s a great teacher but because I really had so many eye-opening moments throughout his class. If you ever got a self tape request wondered “Why did they give me this scene?” “There is not a lot happening in the scene” or “There is way too much happening, how will I jump from a bridge and shoot with a laser gun – in my room?” then this workshop is for you. Eric truly has a skill to make you understand how to do better self tapes and of course get better at screen acting by understanding the techniques of it. This workshop has gotten me really excited about practicing and creating exciting tapes. Lastly Eric’s of course very nice and pretty funny.” – Paula Essam; Actor / Writer /Board Member ProQuoteFilm

“Did the 3 Week Intensive Course with Matthias and had the most inspiring time in Berlin! Everything was very relaxed and Matthias really pushed us by being present and attentive. Everyday we tried something new and I was very happy to recall my love for the stage as a recent drama school graduate. I also met some amazing people in the course and we are already planning on creating cross-cultural projects together. Totally would recommend :)!” ~ Redon/Actor Kosovo

“Mike Alfreds’ workshop on the Laban Efforts was an amazing experience, led by a true pioneer of the theatre, which challenged my preconceptions around the psycho-physical work of the actor.  As an introduction to the work of Rudolf Laban, I found the work liberating and specific, and with Mike Alfreds’ guidance, the Laban efforts have become an indispensable and fundamental aspect of my toolkit as an actor. In a year of lockdowns and a global pandemic, one of the silver linings has been the ability to engage in online workshops with luminaries of the theatre, which would not have been possible otherwise.“ – William Harding (Actor William Kentridge’s ‘”THE GREAT YES, THE GREAT NO”’/Playwright/Director South Africa)

„I highly recommend working with Ken Barnett on Dream Work. He is not only a fantastic teacher and coach, but one of the most attentive and non judgmental people I’ve ever encountered. The method of Dream Work is new to most actors in Germany, but nevertheless very effective and fundamental in achieving both mastery and artistic fulfillment in creating characters. You work the dream from the prospective of people or even innate objects coming in and from the dream, which is both fascinating and exciting. Try it, you will love it. – Kudos to Matthias Schott for inviting such a gifted person.”Oana Solomon; Deutsches Schauspielhaus Hamburg, Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus, Thalia Theater. Zusammenarbeit mit Theaterregisseuren*innen: George Tabori, Werner Schroeter, Luk Perceval, Ruth Berghaus, Robert Wilson, Dimiter Gotscheff

“I always make it apoint to work with Eric. I greatly trust his eye for what works on camera and know that I´ll feel better when I´ve had the chance to get his feedback. I´d highly recommend him to any actor looking to make the most out of their Film/Tv auditions.” – Matt McGorry; Screen Actors Guild Award Winner. Selection of Credits Television: How to Get Away with Murder, Orange is the New Black, Gossip Girls

Matthias is a phenomenal acting coach. I always come back to his teachings, whether it be preparing for theatre or film. Matthias has an engaging, attentive and intuitive teaching style that nurtures each student’s journey. He identifies potential blocks and offers the tools to work through them in order to understand where you need to go to reach a level of higher awareness and understanding as an actor. He breaks down the multifaceted process through a vast variety of exercises which makes the task at hand tangible and approachable, no matter where you are in your acting journey. Matthias’ workshops constitutes both individual and group exercises that shapes and forms each student and attunes to each individual level. Matthias has guided me from a fundamental level, to individual scene- and character work or auditions for schools and jobs. There is a wisdom and deep sense of humanity in the way he approaches each character or scene, teaching us to challenge our understanding of the human experience, be conscious and present in our acting choices, never judge our experience or understanding of the character, but be curious, free and creative.” – Nina Mariko Sandquist (Actress from Norway | Gangs of Oslo – Blodsbrødre)

“The Shakespeare workshop with Di Trevis has been a precious and beautiful discovery and experience. Di has an unimaginable knowledge and expertise, and her passion and love for Shakespeare language and poetry is palpable. – In every moment, Di has been able to explain and enrich my idea and understanding of Shakespeare and, even more, has given me the tools and confidence to work and approach a Shakespearean (but not only) text. The direction and notes she gave throughout the moments of proper performance were absolutely eye-opening and of incredible value. I kept thinking about the work we did together and her words for many days after the end of the workshop. I can’t´ wait to meet her again, and I absolutely recommend every actor to attend one of her classes!”Gaia Poli (September 2025)

Di’s workshop was incredibly transformative. Her teachings make you feel completely grounded in yourself and willing to take bold risks. She also might be the funniest person you will ever meet. – Tate

Di is truly magnificent. She is relentless, detects any “actory” behavior immediately and won’t let it slide. She gets to the core of actors like no one else. She has a love and deep understanding for classical text and how to make it applicable and takes away the fear of classical text from the actors. I feel like I can now apply the tools for classical text to all modern texts as well. Thank you for an amazing workshop, I felt like we became an acting company in only three days. And it is an honor to be taught by such a legend of british theatre.” – Bianca Waechter (Actress / Hysterie Theater)

„I attended the 4-day Acting Foundations Intensive at Schott Acting Studio, and it was a great experience. Matthias has a lot of knowledge and explains things in a clear, practical way. The atmosphere was warm, friendly, and very relaxed — authentic and straightforward – no bullshit. I learned a lot over the four days and left feeling more comfortable and confident in my approach to acting.“ – Anastasiya

“I think Tony is absolutely incredible and coming to class for me isn’t just about letting loose and growing my ability as an actor but more sometimes to really open up myself to the universe and just be. Sometimes I find him saying things that I mentally live by and its so refreshing to constantly hear them being affirmed. Thank you so much for every week re-instilling that positivity and creativity and openness within. You allow me as an actor to forget about the character and remember about Shailene, which makes every movement, moment and word so authentic and true. I’m so grateful to have you as a mentor.” – Shailene Woodley („Big Little Lies“)

Anthony has such a talent at helping the actor accept and stay with the moment. The moment to moment aliveness where all the magic can be found. His process saved me from overthinking, and to just embrace myself as an artist in the process of creation. Also he’s hilarious and reminds you that acting can and should be a joy!” – Daryl McCormack („Bad Sisters“, „Peaky Blinders“)

„Working with Eric Reis is a blast! Apart from his positive energy, he teaches a great deal of things about text analysis I didn’t even know I was missing until taking his class. He gives you honest feedback, so you know what you can work on and encourages you to challenge yourself. Having everyone do several scenes in front of the camera and then analyzing them and showing examples from movies makes this class a must-do for all actors who want to learn how to maximize their chances of getting parts at auditions.“ – Silviana Ursu

“I’ve known Welker and Damian for 30 years. They bring rare extensive experience across the spectrum of film and television to bear on a unique approach that inspires actors to develop and own their artistic process onscreen. Find a way to work with them!” – Allison Janney, Emmy, Oscar, Golden Globe winner – “The West Wing”, “To Leslie”, “I, Tonya”, “The Hours”, “American Beauty

“Prior to working with Ken, my ability to consistently access a deep emotional connection to story and character felt stuck. I knew I needed a new approach. Ken is not only highly adept at laying a path to access the unconscious, but his compassion and keen observational skills make for a safe and wholly satisfying actor/teacher relationship. It is often said that we, as actors, are charged with excavating emotional truths. With Ken, ‘excavating’ becomes a process by which the guide (Ken) leads you straight to the site with the greatest riches, and aids you in carefully and methodically sweeping away the debris to reveal the gold that awaits you.” – Welker W.

Dreamwork with Ken is absolutely transformational. Ken’s workshop helped me find my way into my work in the deepest and most direct way I’ve experienced in years. Dreamwork bypasses the limitations of thinking about acting preparation, and dives into that so often inaccessible creative pool. Ken is a gentle, respectful and reassuring guide into wonderful realms. I will use this approach in all of my work from here on. Do this; it’s amazing.” – Becky L.

„He’s a Genius when it comes to acting ! He has an eye for everything and pushes you to become a better actor while maintaining respect and sensibility for everyone. I will definitely come again ! Thank you Matthias ♥️“ – Diari

“Last week, we wrapped Schott Acting Studio’s three-week intensive. – The course is taught by Matthias Schott. Reading his background, you’re kind of hit by the fact that he’s someone who won’t fuck around with teaching anyone; experiencing him teach is another story. As a personal cherry on top for me, he’s deeply Jungian, having studied and participated in a plethora (that’s right, I used plethora) of Jung-related courses and seminars. This facilitated my choice of investing in this course, but I digress. —– The course runs almost daily, 10 to 5, for three weeks. Sundays included. The mission, stated clearly on his website, is to take an actor from “general to specific.” And that’s exactly what it did for me, as I know it did for my colleagues, and will do for anyone who takes this course. —– In 2025, I attended numerous workshops and spent most of my savings doing so. I never went to drama school, can’t afford it now, and I’m always slightly jealous of those who did (Mashallah upon you if I threw you an evil eye for going to Drama School). I wanted something that could give me a real taste of it, an authentic exploration of the various aspects of an acting curriculum. Matthias delivered a learning experience that, in many ways, condensed what could be a full year of drama school into those three weeks. Please forgive the exaggeration if you actually went to drama school. —– You can explore the program on his website, but I’ll say a few words from my perspective. The program was structured around building skills from the ground up, moving me from broad, general instincts to specific, actionable choices in performance. It drew on Stanislavski’s core ideas and expanded with exercises inspired by British drama schools, Uttah Hagen’s object work and the Meisner technique, combining improvisation, scene work, partner awareness, and vocal and physical expression. Over hours of practice, we worked on being spontaneous in the moment, responding truthfully to partners, and defining clear objectives with our characters rather than performing emotions. I found myself digging into character relationships, object work, and impulse-based choices in a way that changed how I enter a scene and relate to text. What made it so impactful was how each exercise built on the last, helping me trust impulse, sharpen listening, and make stronger, informed choices in performance. —– In writing this testimony I’m basically saying thank you to the studio that Matthias has created. A sacred space for creative exploration guided by a formidable acting coach. A coach whose ability to be both assertive and corrective leaves space for everyone’s individuality to shine. His observations are technically precise, almost microscopic, something that can easily suck the soul out of acting in the wrong hands. That never happened. Instead, he left me with something far more lasting. A sense of direction. A sense of purpose. And the feeling that a great mentor does more than teach. He points you somewhere and trusts you to keep walking.—— I’ve formed deep friendships over these three weeks, learned a level of discipline that now carries into both my life and my work, sharpened my technique, and driven the “I’m really glad I quit everything to learn acting at 35” nail firmly into the structure of my life, in a way that finally makes me feel like I’m walking with stability as a hopeful actor.” – Omar El Sabh

I did the 4 day intensive foundation course and have decided to take up the 3 week course, because it was really that good.” – Garima

„The workshop with Eric was a game changer in my approach to screen acting/auditioning. Eric’s method is something I’ve never learnt, and I’ve trained a lot. The best part was we could all see each other do it and the results were right in front of us. There’s no doubt in my mind that if practiced as Eric said, you’ll get better. Also, he is kind, patient, funny and motivating. He created a very safe space where we were comfortable to fail as he picked us up. Can’t recommend enough.“ – Meghan S.

“It’s just always a pleasure to work with Matthias! The way he creates a safe, yet challenging atmosphere really gives you the chance to explore your acting and get out of your comfort zone. I highly appreciate his subtle feedback and his calm nature. Thanks a lot for everything, Matthias – we’ll surely see each other again soon!” – Nico Weging (Foundation Intensive & Acting Program II)

“I did the 4 day foundation course and the 3 week intensive and both were my starting points into my acting journey. Matthias creates a great atmosphere, which allows us to expand and try out. With a mix of techniques and scene work, aswell as monologue work, he leads the team with heart and soul. We still all rave about our time in Berlin and would recommend to everyone wanting to work on their instruments.” – Ludmilla

„It’s hugely rewarding having direct access to Geordie‘s intelligence and vision, and his experience as a world-class theatre director. He reveals his processes and begins a collaboration with the actors, which leaves us wishing we were heading straight into a rehearsal room with him. I’m a regular in his classes – I always learn new things, they’re always a joy.“ – Dulcie Smart (Actress)

„Working with him gave my acting career a boost. I book bigger roles in tv series and my work on set is at ease and in flow. Making self tapes is so much more fun and effective as well. Eric has deep knowledge and eye for what works on camera and what doesn’t. He makes it so simple, it completely shifted my look on it. He shares his knowledge about storytelling and how you can create the story in the frame with your instinct and authenticity. You are being filmed in the workshop; you see your work back on screen and that is so valuable. And last but not least, Eric is such a gentle, inspiring, respectful teacher. He really cares about you. Don’t miss this opportunity!!!” – Elisa Van Riessen (Actrice/Netherlands)

“I highly recommend this intensive program to anyone, no matter where you are on your journey. – The exercises Matthias leads are practical, insightful and have a lot of depth. I had big aha moments and diving in to the scenes and the monologue work has been incredibly rewarding, Matthias’s feedback is invaluable. – The work we put in over these 3 weeks has given me so much material to work with, both on a personal level and as an actress. – If you’re on the fence, jump! You won’t regret it.” – Milena
